Here is a list I comprised of Battle Games we have used or use often. I'd like to see if there are any that were missed or new ideas for games. The more the merrier!
Free-For-All (everyone is out for themselves in this last Warrior standing battle game)
Absorb (Starts out as a Free-For-All. If you are killed by an opponent you respawn as team mates, but only the once (no count). The person who killed you is the Captain of your team, anyone else who is killed by your team joins and follows (so long as it is their first death). If a Captain is killed their whole team joins their killer's team. If two Captains simultaneously kill one another, everyone on those teams die, so protect your Captain. The goal is to Absorb all other fighters onto one team.
Capture the Flag (teams have a flag, banner, or weapon other teams are trying to steal and take to their base. Respawns are 7 sec for small games, 10 for large. Respawn in mid field sidelines, must touch flag base to join the fighting, must posses both flags to win. Can't strike with flag, can't throw/toss/roll the flag to ally. Players can knock the flag over as defense. Variants include Faction CTF, Kings CTF, and Absorb CTF)
Team Death Match (captains are selected randomly and the teams are picked, last team standing wins. Can be played with, or without, respawns.)
Faction Battles (like TDM but Factions are used instead of picking teams. No respawns)
Iron Warrior Pit (everyone makes a large circle, two fighters go inside the ring and fight, the loser joins the circle and a new fighter goes in to fight. The winner keeps all wounds received and tries to fight their way around the circle. Variant Iron Bull allows the players making up the circle to kill the contestants and take their spot, wounds are regenerated IF there is no outside interference.)Â
One Warrior Army (every player selects a spot for a respawn on the battlefield, or park with enough players. Everyone gets a predetermined number of respawns, one or two for large groups, three or four for small groups.)
Infection (one in four players is selected to be zombie, if they kill living player that player becomes a zombie as well. Zombies respawn at 7 or 10 secs depending on group size. Variants include killed players being slow movers, adding a time limit, or limited respawns for infected.)
Goblin Horde (All Pages are teamed up, a number of adults are added to make them a large horde of goblins. The goblins can not use shields, have five lives but die to any damage, and come back to life by touching their weapons to the ground and saying Goblin #. e.g. Goblin 2, *dies* Goblin 3. Non pages are Trolls and their limbs regenerate with a 30 count, only die completely if stood over by an enemy who counts to five, and the Troll can use gear as normal.)
Bridge Battle (two 50 ft lines of rope are laid out on the ground 15 ft apart. If a player steps outside the rope they die. This can be played with, or without, respawns. Also a variant of Ring the Bell)
Siege Battle (barriers are setup and a "portcullis" is defended from attackers. The defenders get one respawn each, while attackers get two. Can also be a variant of Ring the Bell)
Ones and Twos (starts as a FFA, when a player dies they go to a respawn location, if they are the first person they say one, if another Warrior comes they say two, this makes them a team that goes out and fights together.)
Weavers War (TDM or FFA with specific magic. Healers, Necromancers, etc.)
Valhalla (fighting hard and dying in a blaze of glory will encourage the Fates, which are volunteer non combatants, to give you a second chance at victory.)
Reaper (a player or staff member wields a scythe with magical properties as the Reaper. They can heal wounds, raise the dead and cause chaos by spreading fear.)
Caravan (teams are selected, one must escort a player or object from one spot to another predetermined location. The other teams try to steal the escorted player or item.)
Wheel of Doom/Krom (players make two circles of even numbers, one facing out and the other facing in. After the warriors facing each other fight the outer circle rotates clockwise.)
Juggernaut (one or more players, usually 1 in 4, are chosen to be Juggernauts. These fighters are given 3 torso shots and Invincible limbs. The non Juggernauts get 0 to 2 respawns depending on the number of players.)
Kings (each team has a King whose limbs are Invincible and it takes three shots to the torso to kill them. Their team can respawn so long as the King lives. Big games can include a Knight with two torso shots.)
Emperors (each team has an Emperor that can not leave a 10 ft X 10 ft square. At one of the corners of the square is a respawn point where members of the Emperor's team can respawn. If the Emperor dies their team can no longer respawn. Variants include Absorb or CTF rules.)
Sabotage (a team, or teams, try to plant a flag in the opponent's base. It is reverse CTF. Variants include terrain features like a fort or bridge, or being in the woods.)
Racial Abilities (players select a race and have a special ability they can use during the battle. List forthcoming.)
Something Completely Different (fighters select different gear for each of 3 bouts, unable to repeat a gear choice.)
Ring the Bell (five cones are setup 15 feet apart in a straight line, to move past a cone a team must control it, to gain control of a cone they must be uncontested and say "Ring" three times. The Game is won when a team controls all cones. Respawns are setup by an agreed upon arrangement. A variant is you can respawn at your controlled cones.)
Hunger Games (all gear is gathered and placed in a ring at the center of the field, players must run and grab the gear they want, then survive with it.)
Ditch (two teams fight, the winning team sends the first person to die on their team to the losing side.)
Kill 'em All (the only way to win this game is for one Warrior to kill everyone else. When a player dies anyone they killed comes back to full life.)
